If something is bothering you it is unwise to deny the fact it is getting to you, at least unwise to deny it to yourself. Such denial will lead to other emotions, such as self-loathing, anxiety, stress, depression, guilt, and even a sense of falsehood or numbness. These emotions are among the most potent for triggering self harm in a lot of people.
